______________________________________________________________ "The Jazz Portraits" with host Renee Rosnes The Life & Music of Canada’s Jazz Greats The Jazz Portraits series presents Renee Rosnes in conversation with nine Canadian "statesmen of jazz" - Paul Bley, Oliver Jones, Joe Sealy, Guido Basso, Don Thompson & Terry Clarke – all internationally recognized musicians who have been instrumental in laying the foundations of today's jazz scene in Canada. Each 52-minute portrait features documentary recordings and music spanning the artist's career.
New interviews include legendary trumpeter Kenny Wheeler, illustrious Quebecois bassist Michel Donato and the swinging alto saxophonist PJ Perry.
The new Profiles will air on "Inside the Music," on CBC Radio 2.

This captivating, all-encompassing conversation has been archived will be available for viewing at the New York Public Library by Fall 2009.
